Training

Training at The Collaborative Trust

The Collaborative Trust provides training through their workshops which can range from an hour to a whole day. They are interactive and involve young people as Youth Tutors. The topics are relevant to practice and the issues that young people have.

The Collaborative educators are pleased to be able to tailor make a workshop to provide the most appropriate skills to your workforce.

We offer printed materials in the form of a Youth Health Resource Manual and coming soon will be a tool kit for professionals and organizations who would like help with their research and evaluation, a kit for Employers on how to retain young people in their workforce and a kit for parents to assist them in understanding their teens.

Example of training workshops delivered:

Understanding and responding to self harm / Mental health issues for young people / Recognising sexual abuse / Eating disorders / Alcohol, cannabis and synthetics issues / Bullying / Suicide and depression/ HEadss assessment and what’s next.

Connecting with Your Adolescent Workshop Series: A series of workshops aimed at developing positive relationships with young people through an understanding of adolescent development, ran for parents of intermediate children.

All workshops are evidence based, take a developmental approach and have multiple presenters including young people known as Youth Tutors.

Full details available on the 'upcoming training' page. For resources related to past workshops (which are available to share) visit the 'resources' page.

Youth Tutors

Youth Tutors are a group of young people aged between 16 and 22 who volunteer to assist in training, and are paid to deliver workshops. They help to guide the planning of workshops so that the information is delivered in a manner which role models youth friendly practice, they can role play so that attendees can practice their new found communication skills, and they share their lived expertise of being a young person.
